The specialists of our company have successfully implemented a project to modernize pulverized coal feeders of the power unit No.3 (325 MW) and switch to a variable-frequency drive. VFDs of SINAMICS series from Siemens AG were used as frequency converters. This solution is aimed at improving the accuracy of maintaining the temperature in the furnace of the boiler, as well as at reducing the consumption of electrical energy by the drives of the pulverized coal feeders themselves. The project was implemented in record time – less than 3 months. The pulverized coal feeders will be controlled from the automated process control system of the power unit No. 3.
